The short version: The specs that matter most in an infrared sauna are EMF output at your seating position (demand third-party data — under 1 mG is excellent), the infrared spectrum (full-spectrum is ideal), quality wood, and a real warranty. Below: what to look for, and the indoor infrared line we carry.
What we carry & recommend
The Lumin indoor infrared line — premium Canadian Hemlock, far-infrared, plug-and-play:
- Lumin One — 1–2 person · $6,999
- Lumin Two — 2 person, loaded (touchscreen, speakers, ionizer) · $7,999
- Lumin Three — 3 person · $9,999
Why EMF Matters More Than Most Retailers Tell You
Every infrared sauna produces electromagnetic fields. The question is how much, and where it's measured. Many brands advertise "low EMF" with no third-party data, or measure at the panel surface (meaningless) instead of where you actually sit. What to demand: third-party EMF readings at the seated position, with both EMF and ELF disclosed. Under 3 mG is acceptable; under 1 mG is excellent. If a seller can't show you the data, treat the claim as marketing.
The Specs That Matter
Infrared Spectrum
Far infrared penetrates deep for sweating and detox (the core of most sessions). Full-spectrum (near + mid + far) broadens the therapeutic range if budget allows.
Heater Type
Carbon panel heaters are the low-EMF standard — even heat, longer lifespan. Avoid concentrated ceramic-rod heaters if EMF is a priority.
Wood Construction
Canadian red cedar is the gold standard; basswood is best for chemical sensitivities; Canadian hemlock (what the Lumin line uses) is a solid, beautiful, value performer. Avoid pine or unspecified “solid wood,” which can off-gas at sauna temperatures.
The Infrared Saunas We Carry: The Lumin Line
Our indoor infrared line is built from premium Canadian Hemlock with far-infrared heat and true plug-and-play setup (no electrician for the 1–2 person models). Three sizes:
- Lumin One — compact 1–2 person, 110V/220V plug-and-play. $6,999.
- Lumin Two — 2 person, 1750W, loaded with touchscreen control, built-in speakers, oxygen ionizer, USB/FM, 8mm tempered glass door. $7,999.
- Lumin Three — spacious 3-person with computer control panel and ventilation window. $9,999.
All include a free 1-year warranty with replacement-parts support and free curbside delivery. For exact EMF/irradiance test figures on a specific model, ask a specialist — we'll get you the manufacturer's data rather than quote a number we can't stand behind.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long should I sauna?
20–45 minutes at 120–145°F. Beginners: 15–20 minutes at 100–120°F, building up over 2–3 weeks.
How much does it cost to run?
Most use 1,200–2,400 watts — about $0.15–$0.30 per session, roughly $5–$10/month with daily use.
Full-spectrum vs. far infrared?
Full-spectrum if budget allows; far infrared alone still delivers the core benefits most users want.
Do I need special wiring?
The 1–2 person Lumin models run on a standard outlet. Larger cabins may need a dedicated circuit — ask a specialist.
